Want to join us? A membership is $50.00. This can be turned into a family membership that would include any child, ages 18 and under, for no additional charge. Each membership gets you one free t-shirt. Additional t-shirts can be purchased for $20.00 each.

Our Events!
On September 9th at our meeting, we will be having a community meet and greet with burgers and dogs. We will have folks from different area groups and agencies there to speak about any current or upcoming community projects of interest. Article I: Name
Addison County Sporting Club
Article II: Mission Statement
The Addison County Sporting Club is a non-profit organization of dedicated sportsmen and women working together to advance and promote ethical traditional values of fishing, hunting, trapping and shooting sports.
Goals:
Maintain the environmental, ecological and historic integrity of our lands and facilities.
Protecting and preserving our sporting rights.
Promote the safe use of firearms.
Provide a safe place to shoot, maintain and improve skills with firearms and bows.
Promote participation of future generations through education and mentoring.
Preserving and improving wildlife and freshwater habitats.
Maintain good public relations.
Article III: Membership
Memberships shall be yearly and renewed annually.
Any person, over the age of 18, upon application accompanied by the prescribed fee, may be accepted and will be issued a membership card.
Membership may be refused or revoked by the Board of Directors for just cause.
Club memberships are not transferable. Minors must be always supervised by an adult member.
Voting membership shall have one vote per paid membership
Membership Categories include:
Annual Family with children 18 years of age and under.
Individual membership for over 18 years of age.
Associate/Corporate/Sponsorship Member (ACS).
ACS members shall be considered “bona-fide” members of ACSC with the following restrictions:
No voting rights.
No use of facilities on weekends.
Use of facilities is allowed if scheduled in advance and payment of usage fee as determined by the BOD.
Dues:
Dues for membership and ACS membership shall be established by the Board of Directors.
Article IV: Officers & Directors
The Officers of the Club shall be President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. These positions shall be elected by majority vote of those present at the ACSC annual meeting for a one-year term.
A Board of (9) Directors shall be elected in one third of the Board (3 members) at each annual meeting. Directors shall serve a 3-year term.
In the event of a Board member leaving the post, the remaining Officers and BOD members shall appoint a replacement to complete the vacated position.
No business may be carried out by the board or officers unless a minimum of 2/3 or more of the Officers & Directors vote.
At the discretion of the Board any Officer or board member may be removed by a 2/3 vote of the entire Board & Officers.
President
The President shall be ultimately responsible for the daily operations of the ACSC. The President shall oversee all facets of the Club and shall report directly to the BOD & Officers.
Vice President
In the absence of the President, the Vice President shall act on behalf of the ACSC and shall report directly to the President.
Treasurer
The Treasurer shall ensure accurate accounting of all funds and transactions and send a report at all meetings. Reports should be audited as appropriate and as requested by the Board and Officers. This position may be combined with Secretary.
Secretary
The Secretary shall keep accurate records and oversee all correspondence including meeting minutes and maintain records of the same. This position may be combined with Treasurer.
Board of Directors
The duties of the Board shall be the same as those prescribed by law for Directors of Corporations.
Article V: Meetings
Section 1: Business Meeting
The Club shall hold an annual meeting and a minimum of (3) quarterly meetings throughout the year open to all membership.
Section 2: Executive session
The Board of Directors and Officers may go into an executive session from which everyone is excluded except those currently serving as Officers and Board members and individuals invited as required.
The motion to go into the executive session must include reasons for doing so.
Section 3: Special Meetings
The Officers or the Board may call special meetings at any time deemed necessary. Reasonable notice shall be given.
Article VI: Committees
Committees shall be established to coordinate and run various activities of the Club.
Committees shall consist of a minimum of 2 members in good standing.
Article VII: Parliamentary Authority
The rules contained in the current edition of Robert’s Rules of Order shall govern the club operationally as applicable and which are not inconsistent with these by-laws or State and Federal regulations.
Article VIII: Amendments
Section 1: Proposed Changes
Amendments to these by-laws may be proposed by any voting member in good standing and seconded by a second member in good standing.
Section 2: Adoption
These by-laws may be amended or revised at any meeting of the Board and Officers by 3/5 majority of votes present at such a meeting.
In all cases, the membership shall be given no less than (30) days’ notice and access to the proposed changes. The member’s email contact will be considered their valid method of notification.
Article IX: Finance
The Club shall operate on a Calendar Year basis.
Fiscal Year shall start January 1st.
The Club’s annual budget shall be prepared and presented to the Board for approval at the annual meeting.
The Officers shall be empowered to spend money as necessary for the on-going operations of the Club. All other expenses shall follow the following process & conditions:
No contracts or purchases shall be entered into (written or oral) by any member of the organization on behalf of the ACSC.
Any contracts entered into or purchases without approval will become the personal liability of the member signing.
All contracts entered must be signed by the club president or vice president in accordance with these by-laws, once board approval has been given.
Article X: Dues & Fees
Section 1: Memberships are based on one calendar year and are not prorated. Membership fees shall be set by the Board of Directors. Memberships shall be July 1 through June 30.
Section 2: The Board of Directors shall consider, set and rescind all other fees as appropriate.
Article XI: Use of Club Facilities
The facilities will be available to members for general & Club sponsored activities as set forth in the range rules and responsibilities in force at the time.
Club members in good standing may invite one guest to use the facilities with the said member on a one time annual trip.
Use of the facilities for other than normal Club activities will be considered and any fees set on an individual bases, by the Officers & Directors of the Club
